William Walker Atkinson wrote an estimated 100 books, all in the last 30 years of his life.  I have read many of these books and he is probably responsible for my initial burning desire to continue on my path towards enlightenment…  Reading his works seems so effortless because it makes total sense to me.

William Walker Atkinson, born on December 5, 1862, began his career as a grocer at 15 years old. Atkinson pursued a business career from 1882 onwards and in 1894 he was admitted as an attorney to the Bar of Pennsylvania. While he gained much material success in his profession as a lawyer, the stress and over-strain eventually took its toll, and during this time he experienced a complete physical and mental breakdown, and financial disaster. He looked for healing and in the late 1880s he found it with New Thought, later attributing the restoration of his health, mental vigor and material prosperity to the application of the principles of New Thought.  Check out his Author Page on Amazon to see his many books still in publication!

The Kybalion

Presenting to the attention of students and investigators of the Secret Doctrines …based upon the world-old Hermetic Teachings.

A statement of the Truth that will serve to reconcile the many bits of occult knowledge acquired, but which are apparently opposed to each other and which often serve to discourage and disgust the beginner in the study… Even the most ancient teachings of India undoubtedly have their roots in the original Hermetic Teachings.

“The lips of Wisdom are closed, except to the ears of Understanding”–The Kybalion.

The Mastery of Being

“What am I?” “Whence come I?” “What is the object of my existence?” Hence the eternal “Why?” on the lips of thinkers of the past and present, in every clime, in every civilization, and among every people of the race.”

“The attainment of the knowledge of REALITY causes one to become the attainer of All Truth, for All Truth is included in the content thereof.  REALITY is the “one thing which, when known, all is known.” It is the primal and elemental Truth-of-All-Truth.”
